Leave Time

Hey Everyone!! Dean is on leave from the Army right now! We have been so busy! I hope this post finds everyone in good health and good cheer.

We left home to go to Disney world on the 3rd of August. We stayed in the Fort Wilderness Campground. We stayed in the campground on the 3rd and on the 4th went to the Magic Kingdom. Jolie decided that she needed to get up EXTRA early (5 a.m.). She had lots of fun, while she was awake. She road on the tea cups, the Peter Pan ride, the Winnie the Pooh ride, and the It's a Small World ride. We went to TOON TOWN after the rides and she was able to meet Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. Her favorite out of all of them was Pluto. Shortly after meeting those guys she fell asleep, so we headed back to the campground for lunch. Of course she woke up right when we got there, so mommy and daddy didn't get a nap. So after lunch we headed back to the Magic Kingdom. She fell asleep again later in the afternoon. We figured out how long she was awake while in the Magic Kingdom and it was only 3 hours. Magic Kingdom was definitely too much for her to take in. Grandma Satterwhite came later that evening and picked Jolie and Roscoe up and we were able to turn into little kids and head back to the Magic Kingdom. Dean's favorite ride is Splash Mountain, so that is where we went first. We spent to more days at Disney World and had a blast.

Next on the trip was to go to Tampa to see Dean's family. They moved down there at the beginning of June. They live in a really nice house and Ron is the Pastor at First Baptist of Port Tampa. They have been at this church before when Dean was a child. They are really enjoying there return to Tampa. We went to the Colanade on the first night there and had some good food (wonderful little muffins). We also went to Busch Gardens and that was a lot of fun and kept us busy that day. We tried to ride all of the coasters. We spent a week in Tampa and had a wonderful time.

The final leg of the trip was Spartanburg, SC, to Grandma Satterwhite and Aunt Sandy and Uncle David. Of course, one of the first stops was the Beacon Drive In. Jolie loved their french fries. We stayed at a really nice campground and had a nice cookout with Dean's family. We spent some time in David and Sandy's pool. Jolie actually behaved this time while we were in the pool.

Now we are back at home and trying to relax. All it has been doing since we have come home has been rain. So needless to say we have been a little bored. However, Jolie tried to give Mommy and Daddy a heart attack. She fell and hit her head on the coffee table and had a bump the size of a quarter on her head and it stuck out about 3/4 inch instantly. Daddy called 911, while mommy tried to calm her down. We ended up having to give her a bottle to calm her down. By the time the emts got to the house (15-20 minutes later), Jolie was already acting like her normal self. We have an emt station 3 blocks from the house so we thought they would be a bit quicker but apparently they were in the neighboring town having a meeting. Thankfully everything was ok. Jolie just has a little bit of a goose egg now and a bruise. The photo doesn't do it justice.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will try to post blogs a little bit more often.

Love,

The Satterwhites

Oh So Many Things To Do!

It has been awhile since the last post but there is a good reason for it!! Dean is HOME!
Life has been pretty crazy since Dean has arrived! We have been going, going, going! The camper has been used on two separate weekends and is going to be used again this weekend. Jolie seems to enjoy the camper! She loves climbing on the dinette and the couch! We try to keep her contained but it is a pretty difficult task.
Jolie is growing like a weed. She has 6 teeth and likes to show all of them at the same time. She tries to run! It is pretty funny when she tries. She says Daddy all the time and only says mommy when she is mad or has just fallen down. Jolie went on her first four wheeler ride with her daddy! She really enjoyed it! She smiled the entire time and just leaned back on her daddy!
Dean is happy to be home and is in love with his camper. He also has another toy! He just bought a jeep. Boys and their toys!
I have been pretty busy. I am very happy to have my family back together! It seems like the laundry is never ending and the dishes are always over flowing, but it is worth it.
I hope everyone who reads is having a good week!

~~~8 Days~~~
The countdown is on and we only have 8 days to go!!
Jolie is growing like a weed and she is so very ornery!! She gets into just about everything that she can reach. She has a best buddy and his name is Roscoe. They can get into some real trouble when they are together. Yesterday, I was doing laundry and Jolie saw her swimming pool. I had cleaned it out the day before and it was leaning against the porch railing drying out. She laid it down and got in it. Then she saw her toys and got out and went to go get them. Then she got back in her pool and sat there and played, even though there was no water in it. She is so funny sometimes. She even tried to pull Roscoe into it but he wasn't to sure about it.
Dean is still at the FOB but he will be leaving soon. He had real good news when he called one time this week. He got the Gunnery SGT position. This is a really good opportunity for him and I am so very proud of him! He is really moving up in positions. Hopefully this will help him get promoted come February.
I am trying to get everything figured out for the days right before he comes home. Cleaning house, grocery shopping, and all that other junk. We are definitely staying very busy!
I hope everyone is doing wonderful and I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!
Time is not moving
We are at 16 days and 18 at the most! That of course will change again tomorrow! I think that I am starting to loose my mind! Cleaning is a tough chore to do when you have a one year old that is getting into everything. Hopefully the day before Dean comes home, I can find a babysitter, so I will be able to clean the house!!
Jolie is all over the place. There is no containing her. She will stay in her pack and play for a while, only for an hour tops! She is so full of it some days and some days she is just a little angel. Last night she only woke up once durning the night and that was so nice! Hopefully we have a good night tonight also!!
Dean is back at the FOB now!! And he will be leaving to fly to Kuwait durning the first part of July!! He gets to come home soon. He is so excited about it! I don't know how to prepare him for his little girl! I don't know if he is going to be ready for her nonstop attitude.
I am getting some of the big stuff that needs to be done takin care of! I seem to never get a break! My next door neighbor thinks that I am going to wear myself out before Dean comes home! Its probably true. The last couple of days I have been working on washing down the outside of the house. It is going good! I only have one side left to do and the front porch. I need to mow the yard too, but I don't know when i will get that done. I will mow the yard 2 more times, and then I am sure Dean will take over that chore! I miss him so much! I think it will be a big adjustment having him back in the house, a GOOD adjustment!
Well I had better get going! I hope everyone is doing well!
Sorry there aren't any pictures in this one! I think there is something wrong with the internet!
Counting down the days!!!
We have less than a month to go and it has almost been an entire year since he first left!
Jolie now has 6 teeth, 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. She is walking all over the place and getting into everything. She loves anything that she can get into. Today she decided that she needed to climb into the cabinet to see what was all the way in the back. Jolie also likes to carry around her daddy's running shorts. Today was also the first time I put a bowl of applesauce in front of her to eat all by herself. I think she really enjoyed it and she did pretty good with the first half of it. Halfway through she decided Roscoe needed to have some. So she gets som on her fingers and then she just puts her hand over the edge to feed him, right out of her hand. She also decided the bowl needed to go on the floor. So Roscoe got some more applesauce. It went better than I expected!
Dean will be home around the second week in July. We are getting very, very excited. He is ready for some good home cooking form what I understand. We are ready to have him at home. I know that when he comes home we will probably be even more busy than we already are but it will be so amazing to have in back in our home. Those 18 day or R & R just aren't enough!
I am starting to get the house all nice and tidy. It is pretty complicated when you have a little girl following you around pulling everything back out. I am still sewing and have a purse in the works right now. I recently finished 2 new bags that are a different style than the ones that I am used too. I think they have come out wonderful. For all of you who are interested in looking at the items that I make, go to http://www.joliejunebugboutique.etsy.com/.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Part 2 of Jolie's First Birthday
Today, we had part 2 of Jolie's 1st birthday! It was lots of fun and we had lots of friends come out to the farm.
Jolie loved being able to spend the evening outside! She chased the kitties all over the place and giving them kisses. She had a hot dog for dinner and then she was able to have birthday cake. She shared some of her frosting with me. We didn't get to blow out any of the candles because they wouldn's stay lit. I hope that that isn't bad luck. She ate all the frosting off of the top of her cake and than she dumped her peice of cakeon her high chair tray. She really didn't know what to think of the actual cake part. Then it was back to chasing kittys around and trying to find the doggy. Chole (my couisn Kelsey's dog) was there and Jolie wanted to play but Chole isn't a big fan of kids. So We decided that it would just be best to stay away from her.
It was a big night for her and she didn't really want to go to sleep. We went for a ride so that she could go to sleep and she was out in about 5 minutes.
She is getting so big and so independent. She has only been walking for alittle over 2 weeks but she is has got the hang of it. She is working on getting her 6th tooth. She only gives you kisses when she really wants to, and that isn't very often.
We had better get to sleep because tomorrow may be along day. It will be our last full day in Kansas so we had better get all we can out of it.
I hope everyone who is reading is doing well today!
Part 1 of the 1st Birthday
Jolie's first birthday is this coming Saturday!! She will be 1 year old! It is so crazy how fast time goes by.
On Monday, we celebrated Jolie's birthday with Dean's side of the family! She got lots of fun stuff! She got an outdoor swing, a farm animal magnetic matching game, a leapfrog alphabet catipillar, and some fun bathtub toys. We had hot dogs and hamburgers for supper and birthday cupcakes for dessert.
Jolie liked the frosting on her cake but she really didn't try any of the cake. We learned to never put the birthday hat on her, she hated it.
Jolie has 5 teeth now, and they are really coming in! And the other wonderful news and scary news is she is WALKING! She started walking on Saturday and she is getting very good at it. She walked about 8 feet today and didnt fall down at all. She just has to stop every so often to steady herself.
Dean is doing good! He is preparing to come home! Hopefully he will be home during the first half of July! DO NOT SEND ANYMORE BOXES! Thank you to those of you who have been sending him boxes durning this deployment!
I am doing well! Jolie and I are in Kansas right now. We will be here until the 4th of June and then it is back to the house to do lots of cleaning!
I hope everything is going well with all of you who read this!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
Mother's Day has come and is almost gone! This was my first Mother's Day with Jolie. She was still in my belly for the last one! This was a very special day for us. Jolie and her Daddy got me some very beautiful flowers! Dean's parents spent mothers day with us and it was just a very nice day!
The Onion Festival has come and gone! I was very excited when the day finally came but kindof disappointed with the selling. With the economy the way it is, people just aren't interested in the crafts that I make. Oh, well it happens. In the next week, alot of new items will be added to the ETSY shop! So go take a look at all of the pretty items. I am working on a neat little pillow right now! We will have to see how it turns out!
Dean is doing better and it is looking like he is going to be home durning the middle of July and we will be able to go on leave during August! Only 2 months left! We are getting very excited as the time gets closer!
I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful day! I know now what it is to be a mother and it is the most special thing in the world. I thank my mom so much for being the woman she is and making me the woman I am. I just hope my daugther feels the same way when she is all grown up!
Swim Time
Yesterday, Jolie was in her swimming pool for the first time!! She enjoyed it so much. She had all her ducks from the bath tub and her cups. I learned a few things while she was in the pool. First, do not sit to close to the pool unless you want to be soaked and have your towel soaked. Second, I definitely need to get a lounge chair, so the ants don't eat me alive. And last of all, the pool really wears Jolie out and makes her sleep really good at night!
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
Happy Birthday To Dean
Well, today is April 30th and I know what that means!! Today is Dean's 24th birthday! He thinks he is getting old but I think that he is still great! I don't think he will get to do very much celebrating over there but I will make sure he gets to do plenty when he comes home! We keep hearing different dates for his redeployment!! If I tell you a set of dates please do not think it is the gospel, the army is always changing what they are going to do! So nothing will actually be a final date untill he is really at home!
Jolie is doing great! She has 4 teeth now and she is so full of energy! We are back to sleeping all night but she likes to wake up early sometimes and I am not always a morning person. She is getting better at crusing around objects and she can stand on her own for about 10 to 15 seconds when she is really good and balanced. She gets along wonderfully with Roscoe and has a new doggy friend named Cody! He is the dog of my friend Ashley! Jolie just loves animals. Soon we will be changing alot of stuff for her! She will get to start drinking regular milk and eating a few more things that she isn' supposed to eat now!
I am doing good I only have about 10 more days till the Onion festival! When the onion festival is over I will be adding alot more items to my ETSY shop. So check out that shop around the 12-13 of May!
We had better go so that we can get some stuff done today!
Happy Birthday Baby!!
Best Buds
Jolie and Roscoe are becoming the best of friends!!! Roscoe knows when to leave her alone and when she is actually going to be nice to him!! He loves her when she is in her high chair eating and when she is throwing food over the sides for him to eat. He doesn't like her when she throws big toys off of the high chair because he has been hit one to many times. He likes playing with her when she is on the floor, untill she grabs hold of his ears and yanks on them. She likes to chase him around the dining room and kitchen and he is okay with that untill she starts sreaming really loud. They know each others moods and that is what makes for good friends!!!
Early Mornings
Normally, I am a morning person, but not when I am awakened a 4 a.m. to a little girl who does not want to go back to sleep. This is the way my mornings have been going lately.
Other than waking up early in the mornings Jolie seems to be doing great. Most of the time during the day she is all over the place. I have to move stuff she isnt able to get it. Like right now she is mad because she can't reach the stuff at the back of my night table and is screaming like a banshee. That isn't abnormal in this house. Jolie has always had a high pitched squeal but look out because it is worse when she is mad.
Jolie went to a birthday party on Sunday for her friend, Lucy. She had a fun time and had her first cupcake. Of course this was only practice for her so she will know what to do when it is time for her to have her first birthday.
Dean tells me I do not write in this blog enough, so hopefully he reads this and knows that I do listen to him, atleast some of the time! We usually get to talk everday, the time varies but that is one of the main highlights to my day. We only have 88 more days to the middle of July. Atleast I think that is right.
Roscoe is doing good. He is seems to be gettting lazier and hopefully he will get fatter and start looking more like a bassett hound. I don't think we will ever be able to get a new recliner because the new one would just become Roscoes again. He guards our yard very well, barking at everything that comes close, person or animal. He has come to know that usually there is alot of traffic over at Mrs. Johnny's house, So he just kind of raises his head to see who is there now, and then goes back to sleep.
I am doing well enough. I just know that today I will definetly be taking a nap. I haven't been sewing quite much recently but that is only because Wal-Mart in Hinesville, Ga, is terrible! I went on Sunday, after the birthday party, only to find that they didn't have any of the fabric that I needed. I swear, Wal-Mart is one of the most pointless stores in the universe. The draw you in because they are supposed to have everything at such a good price and they have the groceries too. Who cares!!! The things I would appreciate would be if they kept all their stuff in stock and maybe had more than 4 actual registers open that acutally had a cashier.
Well I think I better go get the laundry done, before everything gets wrinkled again. I hope everyone is doing well that reads this blog and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!
Love,
Teresa and Jolie
Lovely Weather
Just here lately we have been having some beautiful weather. The clouds finally went a way and the sun is shining so bright.
Of course Jolie loves the weather because she loves being outside in her stroller. I think she just loves it outside period. She is always looking around and of course watching Roscoe run around like crazy. Jolie, as usual, is full of energy. She pulls herself up on everything and is learning how to cruise very slowly. I don't know what I am going to do when she starts walking, I only know that I will probably go insane.
Dean is doing good. He told me the other day that we only have about 100 days to go. Which seems like a lot, but after all the day we have already counted down, I guess it isn't to many. The weather over there is extremely hot already. And just a warning if we come visit you for dinner sometime, make a note not to make chicken and rice. That is all that they feed them over there. He also complains about the pork chops. When he gets home I will be spoiling him with all of his favorites. He is very excited to come home and start using the camper. He is already planning where we are going to go first.
I am doing good. I have 30 days till my first craft fair. I am trying to sew at least one item a day. Yesterday, I made my first ACU purse, which I think turned out great. I love it!
Hopefully everything is going good for all of you out there reading this!
